Condition: Faint stretcher marks, otherwise in very good condition.
Notes: JCJ Vanderheyden was born in Den Bosch in 1928. During his 50 year career he was influenced by his many travels. He was also captivated by the clarity and the tranquil spaces in works by Vermeer and Cézanne and at the same time by the grids of newspaper pages and the pixels of printed photographs. Vanderheyden is regarded as one of the most influential Dutch contemporary artists. His reputation as a painter who redefined painting while engaging with multimedia and science was already established in the late 1970s.
