Condition: In very good condition. Minor retouched frame abrasions along the left edge and in the lower left corner, very fine stable craquelure with cosmetic retouchings (mainly to the sky). Framed.

Notes: This charming and meticulously painted scene shows that Albertus Verhoesen was a master of this genre. The landscape with the crumbling ruin is lightened up by the chickens scuttling around and bathing in the sun.
